Celebrate the Fourth of July with a Delicious Berry Trifle

The Fourth of July is a time for fireworks, family, and of course, fabulous food! One of the best ways to celebrate Independence Day is by indulging in a dessert that’s as festive as it is delicious, and we LOVE it alongside a bubbly wine. This year, impress your guests with a classic Berry Trifle. This delightful dessert not only looks stunning with its red, white, and blue layers, but it also bursts with fresh flavors perfect for a summer celebration.

Ingredients

- 1 pound of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

- 1 pint of fresh blueberries

- 1 pint of fresh raspberries

- 1 angel food cake, cut into cubes

- 2 cups of heavy whipping cream

- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese, softened

- 1 (14-ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. **Prepare the Whipped Cream:** In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  2. **Make the Cream Cheese Mixture:** In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk, continuing to beat until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.
  3. **Layer the Trifle:** In a large trifle dish or glass bowl, layer one-third of the cake cubes. Top with a third of the cream cheese mixture, followed by a layer of mixed berries. Repeat the layers twice more, ending with a generous layer of whipped cream on top.
  4. **Decorate and Chill:** Finish by arranging a few berries on top for a decorative touch. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours to allow the flavors to meld together.

This Berry Trifle is a showstopper at any Fourth of July gathering. Its vibrant colors and refreshing taste make it the perfect end to a day of celebration. Plus, it's an easy recipe that can be made ahead, giving you more time to enjoy the holiday with friends and family. And don’t forget to pop open a can of Nomadica bubbly white; a dessert must-have. Happy Fourth of July!
